The Heathrow Sustainability Partnership is a group of companies working hard to make our airport - and your air travel - cleaner and greener
From the construction firms that build Heathrow, to the airlines that fly from here and everyone in between, those in the partnership will be jointly committed to improving the sustainability of their business at Heathrow.
We want Heathrow to be recognised as a leader in sustainability. This means setting and achieving targets to improve our performance on the following sustainablity issues:
Transport: travel to and from the airport, operating vehicles within the airport and aircraft landing, taking-off and on the ground
Resources: energy use, waste generation and building design
People: employment & skills, local procurement, community investment
We know we can't achieve sustainability overnight, but we can set out to make our performance tomorrow better than our performance today and we are already making changes. Even small ideas can add up to make a big difference. We are confident that we can achieve more together than we can individually.
The Heathrow Sustainability Partnership kicked off in September 2010, led by a Board made up of the Chief Executives of 16 companies operating at Heathrow. Over time, we aim to engage more of the companies at the airport. Check back in the coming months to keep track of our progress.
